He wants order, love, righteousness, and that which comes from these three: peace.
Reason: simple! He chose to create beings capable of appreciating life as he does.
Any organism to function must do so orderly, peacefully, even lovingly. Within our bodies this love that gives each body member what it needs timely, permits the body to live a long time.
This is the principle that must be at work, since society may be likened to an organism!
As you can see, our human organism is dying, we are destroying ourselves, the world around us, everything--because we have forgotten the social contract.
Love God of all your heart, mind, etc -- Why? because that means obedience to his laws that create society!
Love your neighbor as yourself -- Why? Because is creates peace in your locality.
In everything we see that there is no opposition to God's wisdom!

That is looking at it in human terms. God already has everything He wants.

God always acts to the end of promoting the *good,* the *true,* and the *beautiful* - and he wants His creatures to be happy in the end.
Now what is the standard of that?
It is His own *immutable eternal being,* which is infinitely good, true, beautiful, and happy|
Now of course evil and suffering exist in the universe|
But that is not God's fault, but the creature who has used his free-will wrongly|
But with redemption, and the will of God to have us get to heaven, there is still the Cross - there is still suffering in life|
For as the saying goes, the Cross comes before the crown|
We can see this in the biblical account of Job, who God allowed satan to bring to absolute misery after he was a prosperous and happy man|
But we have to realize that what God does or permits is in accordance with infinite love and eternal wisdom|
The Blessed Henry Suso, whom Our Lord was putting through the most heavy crosses imaginable, kept referring to Himself as the "Eternal Wisdom|"
After Job's terrible suffering, God raises him up, but to a much higher level than he was before, as can be seen at the end of the book of Job| Job is also fit to comprehend divine mysteries that he had no capability of before his trial. So in all cases, God knows what he is doing|
The ultimate goal of those who are destined to be saved is the *Beatific Vision* or the face to face vision of the divine essence, which is infinite, which is infinitely more blissful and intimate than any possible union on this earth, and which is to last for all eternity|
Now the beatific vision is so exulted that we have absolutely concept of it here on this earth|
To get there is so arduous and difficult a journey, that some people require millions of years of purification (their time), after their death before they can arrive| (which is being purified in *purgatory* according to Catholic theology|
No image of the sense and no idea of ours, no matter how exalted, can be a means of union with God, but He must take the helm Himself, and put us through the purifying fires of the *dark night of the spirit* - or what is known as "mystical death" - before we can arrive at new life in Him|
We have absolutely no clue as to how pure we must be before we can be admitted into the divine presence| So many of our good works, that seem so good and pure to us, have hideous imperfections and deformities in the eyes of God, who is infinitely holy, and who sees all things as they really are with infinite precision|
St. John of the Cross (17th century), who was one of the greatest intellects of all time, and who is considered by many as the greatest mystical theologian of all time in the Church, laid out many of these principles in great detail.
