Yes, it is ok in public, as is kissing between 2 men or a man and a woman.
Whether bigots find it offensive is a problem for them. Lesbians and gays have the same free will to live their lives as they choose, as do straights and bisexuals etc. Because something is less prevalent, never meant that it was wrong, it being just an element of difference. Sadly some closed minded people are always 'yes, but' when it comes to allowing others the freedom that they deserve in their lives. They will grudgingly give a little bit of it, but don't really want full equality, due to the inadequacies of their own minds. Sad for them. Be free.

Well i think that w/ all pda( public displays of affection ) your surroundings should be kept in mind . That being said while i think it is inappropriate to kiss my girlfriend in a church or at her little sisters 1st grade school play , i think holding hands , sitting close to each other etc are great alternatives in such situations. I think that the sexuality of the person has no effect in the appropriateness of the pda but rather the situation you are in. So simply put yes i think its fine to kiss your girlfriend in public , just have some class and common sense.

it depends on the kiss that you give....open mouths and tongues should be kept private not only gays but straight folks as well...but I think the general public doesn't have issues with two females giving each other a kiss..... I think most have issues when two guys do it..... I've given the girl go out with a kiss and it didn't bother me a bit

I think it's fine for anyone to kiss in public as long as it's not a full blown makeout session.

A peck on the cheek is fine, if you want to go farther, get a room. That applies to everyone, not just gays and lesbians. There is a time and place for everything.

Asimple hug or kiss on the cheek is ok. But tongue swapping should be done in the privacy of u 2.....

I think it should be equal to the standards straight people have. It makes me uncomforable at times and I think other people look. So I guess I think it's not okay depending on where I am.
