im 6 foot and 192 pounds. in the last 2 years i barely ever eat. once a day at the most. and that is just a small meal. in the past 4 days all i have eaten is about half of a footlong sub. but i seldom ever lose any weight. i have lost about 35 pounds in the last 2 years but i cant believe its not alot more considering the small amount of food i consume. im not trying to lose weight at all. i just have a weak stomach and food doesnt usually go down well unless i am very hungry. a few years ago i could eat 2 foot long subs as just a regular meal. now it would take me atleast a week to eat that much. i must admit i drink alot of whiskey so i wonder if that keeps the weight on.

Okay, the whiskey could be helping you keep on the weight, but if you're trying to lose weight you should be eating more. Most dieticians recommend 6 small meals a day. When you don't eat regularly, your body thinks it's starving and your metabolism slows down. Eat small healthy meals at regular times each day and exercise at least 3-4 times per week. This should help you lower your weight. Good luck!

The whiskey will add extra calories, but by only eating occasionally, you may be kicking your body into starvation mode. If you don't take in at least moderate amounts of food every day, several times a day, your body thinks it is starving, and your metabolism shuts down to conserve energy. This makes you burn fewer calories. The secret is to eat 3 small meals and 3 small snacks over the course of the day. For breakfast, eat a bowl of cereal or a couple of pieces of toast with a piece of fruit. In mid-morning, have a piece of fruit. For lunch, have a salad and a small sandwich. Another piece of fruit and a glass of milk or a container of yogurt in the middle of the afternoon. At supper, eat 4 oz. of lean meat (about the size of the palm of your hand, and a few pieces of bread, a baked potato, or some other small serving of carbohydrates. And at bedtime, have another glass of milk and a carbohydrate. It sounds like a lot of food, but you're spreading it out over the course of the day. It keeps your body feeling full, and not trying to conserve fat and calories. And replace the whiskey with water--it will do you a lot more good.
