The word youre struggling to use is "Teach"
Sex education is usually taught in school, actually. It's normally during High School that it is brought up in health class.
Should it be taught at an earlier age? Yes. Of course.
And its not really about preventing being better than curing. It's that knowledge about the subject is better to have before partaking in the acts that should involve knowledge. Bad things can happen either way if people are safe or think it through- but it is best to have more knowledge of the situation before they decide what safety precautions they would want to take and exactly how much it should be thought through.
Good point though.

For the schools that decide against teaching about sex- they should definitely pick it up in their curriculum or as an after-school class if they dont find it to be right for everyone. Kids will find out and will be more likely to make bad decisions on it if they arent informed enough.

You are talking about educating morality, and yes, that part of education should come from families and religious leaders. But anyone who reads the kinds of questions about sex that are being asked on Yahoo Answers should understand that there is a great deal of ignorance about the basic facts of sex. Families are not doing a good enough job for young people to learn about the biological facts. So, schools MUST step in to get rid of some of this ignorance. Good luck!!

I think, rather, writing may be a better subject. Sex education, however, teaches kids about natural biological processes that shouldn't be a secret. If you leave sex and reproduction out of the picture, you are leaving a lot about life out of a child's education. Yes, sex education should be taught in schools and at home.

It should be taught in schools. Judging by the questions about sex on here, the level of ignorance on the subject among teenagers is appalling. Grammar and spelling should be taught too. "We should taught" is incorrect. We should TEACH sex education in schools.

yes i agree with that "prevention is better than a cure"
also education is the key to this
i am happy my children are being taught sex ed, although they already have been educated by me their mother, i beleive its important for parents to also teach and talk with their children about this, and in a way their child will always feel its ok to come to talk with them about it and any questions they have.

Yes. It keeps kids from experimenting and having children at too early of an age. It releaves worthless parents of their responsibility, and it is not a porn show. There are never any pictures that would actually arrouse your sexual drive. You are merely disturbed by women giving birth and the design of the reproductive organs.

If anything, Picture Day should be on the same day that they show the GIVING BIRTH PICTURES, and when the photographer takes his pictures he should say vagina, so parents can laugh at the funny faces their kids make.

It should be taught in school. Otherwise they wouldnt know the facts and the consequences. Educating them early let them know that having sex there are responsibilities such as pregnancy and STDs.

It depends on what you mean by education.

To teach it as a part of biology is a normal part of education. However, the morality perspective of sex education is the role of the family and church.

Yes, without a doubt. Just read some of the questions in the pregnancy section and you will see that our young people are horrible uninformed about what can get them pregnant.
