I need to print out about 50 pages of application form which needs to be absolutely perfect, so I can't have the last pages fading out. I have had the current ink cartridge for quite a while and would like to know how much ink is left before I nip down the shops?

It's a HP PSC: 1317 All-In-one.

It is fairly simple !

Normally, when you print a document, if your driver is properly installed (i.e. - complete set) a pop up screen will indicate your approx. ink level graphically.

Otherwise, just put in the HP driver cd and install other add on HP utilities among which you will find a service that tells your current ink level; even when not printing.

I have not used your model of HP printer but most HP printers work this way - especially if it is a recent model.

Hope it helps.

Just print the pages a few at a time (say 5 pages)
that way if and when the ink starts to run out you only have to re-print a maximum of 5 pages after changing the cartridge.

when you give a Print command, look down right on your PC screen it shows a status bar and a spooling option.

If it's taking a helluva time for even 1 page, it means not enough ink so you may replace the cartridge now

the secret's that the as lengthy simply by fact the printer determines that the ink cartridge is the two low or empty it is going to likely be complicated to alter that status to study the rest. So purely shop on printing in case you may until the ink is exhausted My advice to you would be to have a ink cartridge alternative obtainable
