wats the diff of having a boyfriend and a special friend?

I think if you had a boyfriend you would spend all or most of your time with him. Some times the two phrases mean the same thing, a boyfriend you would have more feelings for than you would a special friend

I always considered a boyfriend is someone whom you are attached to mentally and most likely physically. There is a responsibility there to watch over each others feelings and emotions. With a special friend I result in thinking that it is someone who is just there for the good times and possibly a physical relationship but a true emotional relationship does not exist.
