At the end of the day, we are all responsible for our own behaviour, so I would say our partners are accountable for themselves. That said, I still think better of antagonising my partner or treating him badly, because I can predict that it will upset him, and in turn he may behave badly. Especially over a long period, if someone is ill-treated, their own behaviour is highly likely to degrade, and it is our responsibility to treat our partners well.

Definitely not. If I were to be held responsible for Bubba's behaviour, then I'd be in the nut house or jail house already, and I'd have no friends. He's done a lot of really mean things and most people haven't forgiven him for it. They tolerate him because of me.

at some times yes because you are around them alot and they should know not to act like that but then again you are responsible for yourself and dont have time to look out after someone who cant take care of themselves.you just gotta give the kick.

God no. If that were the case, poor old Denis Thatcher would've had to spend most of his life in prison. He had it bad enough as it was! Actually, on second thoughts, prison would've been a blessing.
