a) 3 = -6 + 3x (so add 6 to each side)

9 = 3x (now divide by 3)
3 = x

b) 2x - 3 = 2 (so add 3 both sides)
2x = 5 (divide by 2)
x = 5/2 or 2.5

c) x - 6 = 4 (add 6 to both)
x = 10

d) 3 - x = 604 (add x to both)
3 = x + 604 (take 604 from both)
x = -601

e) 5 - x = 303 (take 5 from each side)
- x = 298 (now divide by -1)
x = -298
