I always was in admiration of Darth Vader and how evil and powerful he was. Whether it was chopping off Lukes hand, killing his own men, and deflecting laser fire with his own hand. Greatest movie ever is The Empire Strikes Back. I always remember Vaders lines. Here are my 5 favorite.
1. It is useless to resist, dont let yourself be destroyed as Obi Wan did.
2. Asteroids do not concern me admiral, I want that ship not excuses.
3. Obi wan never told you what happened to your father.
4. I am altering the deal, better pray that I dont alter it any further.
5. The force is with you young skywalker, but you are not a jedi yet.
Whenever I am working as a security guard I stand my ground and maintain discipline like Vader did.

I was born a couple days after Star Wars came out. I usually use it as an age reference. Jaws is also 30. Scary!
I remember Return of the Jedi because at that time my best friend used to have a whole bunch of Star Wars toys. He had the AT-AT, the DOG with a hatch in its stomach where you could put action figures and a TIE Fighter. A whole bunch more. I had an X-wing and one of the guys who rode the scooters.
Star Wars keeps cropping up in my life and I enjoy watching the movies. Being a purist, I prefer the original three and wish Hayden didn't sound like he had a dumpling in his mouth and that he looked really menacing, instead of really pouty all the time. But hey. Thanks for th reminiscences!

I was crying when Luke Skywalker got his hand cut off by Darth Vader in the Empire Strikes Back.
After the A New Hope was first shown on telly, I had it taped and watched it so much my brother and I could word for word say the whole script, so could act out the film using our figures.
And I still get butterflies and well up when Darth saves his son and does in the Emperor an Return of the Jedi, which still in my opinion has the best Lightsaber fight of the lot.
Right versus wrong, good versus evil - lessons in life for us all!

I turn 30 this year too!
I don't remember the first time I saw Episodes IV, V and VI all I know that is for as long as I remember as soon as I see those little words in blue come on the screen is the anticipation, then the theme music blows your mind with the excitement of the experience!
I got my home cinema set up purely for those films, and it was worth the wait!

I was 16 when I first saw Star wars and to say it effected me might be a bit strong but I have enjoyed watching Sci-Fi movies ever since. I also started reading books which I didn't do before it so for me it had the same effect as Harry Potter has on this generation

Still remember the emotions when the music came up with the immortal words "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" for the first star wars film I was only five and very excited, it taught me to restrain myself and violence is not the answer, I have lived my life with no violence and consider myself a jedi (that sounds very sad but means I never been beaten up etc.)

I'm a huge fan but I remember when Yoda fought Tyrannous in episode 2. I burst out laughing and my friend beside me got pissed off at . I couldn't help it it was just like watching Kermit the frog sword fight in Muppets Treasure Island but in the middle of a Star Wars flick.
Star Wars affected my life when I watched the clone wars cartoon I was so cool, I sat in awe when Mace Windu beat up all the droids and took down the desert destroyers. I didn't cry when the Ewok died but I screamed when R2 got blown up by the sith assassin.

To be honest, I was never so impressed by Star Wars, even though I was the right age. I had seen "Close Encounters" and Star Wars was childish by comparison. BUT...
my kids loved it when they saw it and it became a big item in my house, especially the (somewhat disappointing) new 3 films, so their childish joy melted my heart towards Star Wars and I left the dark side behind.
My best Star Wars moment is playing the Lego Satr Wars games on the PS2 - highly recommended, best fun ever!
Cheers, Steve.

I too went and saw Jedi at the cinema when i was on holiday in Hastings. I remember being very upset when The Emperor was using force lightning on Luke! We took our neighbours kids to see it when we got back and i went and hid in the toilet at that bit so i'd miss it!
I have a huge memory of first seeing A New Hope, when they rescue Leia from the cells and they get trapped in the corridor, she grabs Luke's gun, blows a hole in the vent and shouts 'into the garbage chute, flyboy!' i remember thinking 'holy cow girls can be tough and get boys out of trouble!' it was like an epiphany!

I also remember seeing Return of the Jedi as one my first films on the big screen. I fell in love with the Priness Leia right there.
So maybe Big George is planning something for May 2007, if nothing other than to say
"May the Fourth be with you" !!!
Ive never heard anyone use it though - is it sacrosant ?
