I developed it early on in my fist pregnancy and was admitted to hospital for a month and half, my second pregnancy was fine. However I have a new partner and we are expecting end of June, I keep worrying that I am developing signs, stomach pains and spots infront of my eyes, one swollen foot. Or am I just being paranoid? My midwife doesn't seem to listen all the time when I see her, and I don't like to seem that I am moaning too much.

I used to think that my midwife never listened to me either - when I was pregnant with my daughter I complained of pain in my ribs, headaches and sickness - she told me to take some paracetamol and go away - 3 hours later I was in hospital with severe pre-eclampsia and they had to deliver the baby 3 months early and I had to go to intensive care!
I know how you feel. I'm only saying this because if I learnt anything it was that in my next pregnancy I'm going to keep telling my midwife/doctor if I feel ill or strange and become a nuisance!
I was told that I would be much more closely monitored with any further pregnancies, have they offered you this? Don't ever seem that you are moaning -it's your health at the end of the day. And at least you know what the signs are this time, so you can catch it quicker. Good luck! (I hope I haven't worried you with what I have said, I just wanted you to know that you aren't the only one who feels this way because I do too!) :)

Definately make sure your doctor/midwife checks it out. It doesn't mean anything for sure, but your instincts are usually at least partly correct. I swore up and down through most of my pregnancy that I had pre-eclampsia. My doctor said I didn't until I was admitted to the hospital a month early and diagnosed with... guess what? pre-eclampsia. It's your midwife, but I would want someone to listen to me even if she thinks I am just being paranoid. Make sure you're comfortable with her (I'm sure you are, but she should probably check things out if you are concerned)

Honestly, you are the only one who knows your body. If the midwife isn't listening to you maybe you should rethink keeping her around. You can always go to your neighborhood pharmacy and get your pressure checked. I did it all the time during my latest pregnancy because my pressure kept going up. My Dr. didn't even realize when I had a visit with him that my pressure was up at that moment. I had to tell him that the nurse said it was up. He sent me straight to the hospital after almost sending me home because he wasn't paying attention. Take care of you and keep your own tabs on your pressure for reassurance.

Well if you think something is wrong then make them check you. You know your body you have done this before . I had it with my second child but only at the end of the pregnancy and i had no symptoms so i was shocked .... Is your blood pressure high? Just relax and try not to worry to much that could play a factor inthis as well.

Of course you will be worried hun. it,s only natural. Your last pregnancy was fine you say, well there is no reason why this one should'nt be. They know your history and are bound to be keeping an eye on you but if you do need reassuring go to your doctor and relay your fears to him. Enjoy your pregnancy and to do that you need to allay your fears. I do hope al goes well for you and let us know how you get on. XXX

you could be worrying to much but if you think you have any signs make an appointment with your doctor if you don't think your midwife is listening, good luck

If you feel your midwife isnt doing her job dump her, you shouldn't feel that way. Get a second opinion. Trust your instinct!
