I didn't have it with my first, but it's really bad tis time for me too! I'm 31 weeks.
I've found these remedies pretty good:
-Johnsons baby oil.
-Olive oil with a few drops of Mandarn essential oil mixed in, the mandarin oil is harmless to you and baby, it cuts the itching AND even stops stretch marks from appearing! (My mum is an aromatherapist).
-Talcum Powder can help too.
Hope one of these makes it a bit better for you, the olive oil and mandarin helps the most for me!
:-)

Hi,
I had the same problem. In my fiorst preganancy my skin was itchy all the time from about 4 mths. With the 2nd pregnancy i didnt start itching until 7 months. My skin just itched all teh time all over. There is nothing u can do for it. Its a condition in pregnancy known as (not sure how to spell it) collithasis of pregnancy. Its to do with the bile in your liver. The only way i found to help ease the itch is take Polarmine or Fenurgon (dont know hoe to spell). This is gonna sound gross but it works for a short time.....Stand in the shower an pee in a container, then pour the pee all over you and rub it in. Stupid i know, but hey it gives u some relief. If not ask your Doctor about it. If its the same as what i had, then talk to your Dr, as (dont want to scare you), but this condition can cause still borns, after 34 weeks.
Hope this helps!

I had that problem too!! try a stretch mark cream, like Palmer's Cocoa Butter stretch mark cream, and rub it on the skin where you itch. It may not provide immediate relief, but it helps with skin elasticity and will lessen/eliminate the itching after about a week- which is still a nice alternative than rubbing chemicals on your skin from an anti-itch cream like cortizone. also, try to avoid scratching (i know it's hard) because it will make any stretch marks sore or more itchy. (:

I had a hormone imbalance when I was pregnant and itched everywhere and there was no rash or anything to itch. I had to take a pill everyday until I delivered and then it stopped just like that. For just skin stretching I would use Gold Bond Medicated lotion.

Its horrible isnt it? You can stay as moisturized as you possibly can - I use bagbalm for my eczema and so I used it on my belly as well. It keeps the moisture in and it has an antiseptic so you can use it on the stretching areas near your pubic bone. You can find it in the pharmacy or in the pet department at a department store. It was designed for chapped cow udders. We had to use it on our daughter after her cleft lip repair so it was recommended by a doctor- totally safe. Its in a green square can.
Some people will recommend Coacoa butter - it did nothing for me- it dried up too fast and didnt last long
Some wll also recommend vitamin A but I found it was just sticky and also did nothing to ease the itchy feeling. I have many stretchmarks because my skin just wont stretch- both of these remedies did nothing to prevent them.

I itched so much in late pregnancy it was untrue! My mum actually told me to stop cos i looked like i had fleas!
The best thing i found was a cocoa butter stretch mark cream. I had to apply it regularly but it was such a relief!
good luck!

you do get itchy during late pregnancy the stretching of the skin causes this as it pulls and feels like an itch.Try using talcum powder on the areas where the itching is a lot worse.Good luck with the birth and everything.

I itched all over and didn't think anything of it so I scratched and scratched. DON'T DO THAT!!! I ended up getting stretch marks on all the parts that itched. My arms, legs, stomache....Moisturizer helps but keep it slick. Use olive oil, it works wonders. Use it quick, these are the stretchiest moments....is that a word?

I was very itchy during the last few months of pregnancy my doctor recommended Benadryl Allergy. It worked great and it is also safe to use during the third trimester( both the doctor and pharmacist said it was safe) I also used Aveeno bath and shower oil.

Cocoa butter, and a product called "Mother's Friend" is usually very helpful. The itching is caused by the stretching of your skin.
