You're probably thinking of Wembley Arena, which was originally called Wembley Empire Pool, as it was built, presumably as an Olympic swimming pool, the last time London staged the Olympic Games in 1948. It is situated literally a couple of hundred yards from the stadium.

The Wembley Arena (plays gigs) is next door to the Wembley stadium (will soon play football - apparantly the FA Cup Final this year!)

You would think so, wouldn't you? We haven't got a Wembley Stadium at the moment, but when it is finished George Michael has got a gig there.
(You know the difference when you go there. Music tickets are cheaper!)
