Fix a nice dinner at home set there and talk for a while about thing that he went thu and also talk about things you went thu . No need to jump right into bed its been 7 months he can wait another few hrs. Theres alot of things on both your minds and they need to be talked about . You need to get to know each other again alot has changed for him and you. OR you can hit the bed and talk about things later. But what ever you decide you will need to talk about things . I know I went thu this twice but it was more than 7 months each time .

A clean quiet house with a nice warm dinner ready for him and an open licence to talk about whatever he wants for a while or just to be peaceful with you.

He'll give you a sign if he's up for some cuddling and sex so make sure you have it ready but don't expect it from him, its a long flight.

Let him unwind first.People who havent been to a war zone dont understand the stress that it causes. He will have seen things he cant describe, and being back in reality is difficult.Be patient with him,yes he'll be glad to see you and his family and hopefully he'll be ok,but try to understand if he wants to be on his own for a while. It took me 2 months to get my head round being in a safe environment,no car bombers, suicide attackers or snipers....
Being able to walk along the street without having to look over your shoulder, not worrying about speeding cars....
Its different for everyone whose been there, some get o with it,some cant forget what they've seen..Im better now...
Be understanding of what hes been through.....
Good luck and lets hope he doesnt have to go back to that awful hell hole....

Show up at the airport wearing a trench coat and heels, and not much underneath. He's waited 7 months to see you too! And PLEASE let him know America is grateful for what he's just been through!
