I don't want to be...

I wouldn't want to be size "0" as I like my body & prefer to have a few curves. I am a size 14 & although I could do with a bit of toning up here & there I wouldn't want to be less than a 12. However, some women are naturally thin & I don't think there is anything wrong with that if that's the way they are made & they are happy.

I am 5ft 3 and I weigh 8stone. I am a Uk dress size 8, which used to be considered small, now I would be 'fat' or 'big' if I went to hollywood.
I am not fat, and I know that, but I really am feeling the pressure to be thinner. I'm not some teenage girl either, I'm 27! But as someone who has always been though of as slim I now feel like I don't deserve that title anymore. I was really sick last year and dropped to just under 7 and a half stone, and I'm ashamed to say I was thrilled. I did try and maintain my new 'figure' if you could even call if that, but even depriving myself ALOT still made me put the weight back on and I was back up to my normal weight in less than three weeks. I cannot imagine the torment these women must go through to be so slim. they literally must eat the bare minimum to survive. What's the point in being so wealthy if you can't 'afford' to eat?

Yes, but not yet.

Sizes keep shifting. If I pick up a 10 from a vintage clothes shop (I LOVE those shops!) it will fit me nicely. If I go into Saks or something I can get a 6 that fits about the same.

To make women feel better about themselves, the manufacturers keep changing the size labels so it looks like you wear a smaller dress or skirt.

So in a few years, I'll be a 0 whether I planned it or not.

For most women to be size 0 they must have some form of eating disorder... size 8 and above is what I'd call healthy. Unfortunately, some women have this bizarre idea that being that skinny is attractive. No hips, no breasts, no bum, in fact, absolutely no curves and no figure. Not attractive in my mind.

Me personally no. But woman for years have always been shown what they are supposed to look like. In the Victorian times the only people who where skinny where the poor, but by today's standards show that all skinny women are successful and driven. As a woman I think that we all have our hang ups when it comes to our bodies, but the media do sort of drive into today's modern woman that we all should be skinny. 'Come on girls' if someone loses weight they are congratulated, and yet when they put on weight we hear the words ' can afford to shift a few pounds'! Not exactly a positive image is it.

I think depending on your frame size first and of course your height. Some women can look very skinny being a size 10 if they have a large skeleton whereas I can look still quite curvy being a size 8. But then I'm only 4ft 10..

I prefer being a UK size 12, size 0 is equivalent to that of an 8 year old girl!

I hardly know any women who don't think they're 'too fat' to some extent! There's so much pressure on women to be thin, simply because society tells us we look better skinny- glossy magazines, high street fashion, cat walk models, celebrities etc etc. It's unnatural for the majority of us and unfortunately, vanity overrides sense and people are ending up ill! Personally I'm a size 16 (UK). I know I'm a couple of stone overweight and would like to get down to a size 12 which would be curvy and healthy for my height and build. I have no aspirations to be any smaller than that. I'd like to keep my boobs and bum, just make them smaller than they are now!!!

No Way!
My goodness that must be super duper tiny, like a little girl.
I am a size 5 and people always comment that I am small, I can't imagine being a "0".
It is a shame the media crams down women's throats that they "should" be 5'10" 120lbs with a C-D cup! It is ridiculous!

I am a size 3 and I hate it. I wish I was a size 7. 7 seems perfect. Im also 5 foot (20y/o) And I cant find jeans that are the right lenght. I guess if ur a size 3 you also have to be 5'9 or something.
