You wait sometimes for more than half an-hour to fine one. It is bad for the reputation of it's tourism.

I don't know what you're talking about- every time I go to Dubai (I live in Abu Dhabi) it is so incredibly easy to find a cab.
Half the time I don't even want a cab but several pull over.
All of the drivers are so desperate for customers, they are always around.
The taxis are cheap, too, as long as you don't get stuck in traffic. That's when the meter really starts to add on money.
Good luck with your strange I-can-never-find-a-cab-in-Dubai disease. Hope it's not contagious. ;)

Taxi's are found almost all over the city..I dont think there is a shortage of them. Try locating yourself in the main road. If you cannot get thru then ring up 04 2080808 and pre order one for yourself but they MIGHT charge you.

I have been to Dubai many, many times and have never had a hard time catching a cab, except maybe in a more remote area. I have had cabs pull over for me when I didn't want one.

I ve been to Dubai more than 7 Times so far...
Never faced a problem finding a Taxi
I mean Taxis are scattered everywhere....

not really there u can get taxi easily only on some remote places but still u can call up the taxi co. or services who can easily send a taxi to ur place

depends on where your standing, if its not near a main road then it will be a bit hard.
but some drivers are just sexist and racist.
but you can just call them on their telephone (number is written on the door) and appoint one to come to your destination then you will be picked up in no time.
