It is true.
Many people will be very close for short periods of time, but the best friends are those who stay with you all through life. the kind you can not see for a year or two, and when you get back together it's like just a week has gone by.
When someone who I thought was a true friend ends up not being one, I can always recognize the signs in retrospect, if I think about it.
Sometimes it's hard to spot at the time, though.

I believe a true friend is harder to find. I have a true friend and we never have time to talk but at lest once a month one of us will stay up late or wake up early or even stop what ever it is we're doing and call one another. A true friendship isn't hard to keep because both of you are trying.

True. It's really hard to keep. Even if you totally trust your best friend, there may be some day when you'll do something wrong for him/her and the relationship will be ruined.

Friendship shouldnt be hard to keep if you work at it however no matter how hard you work some people just dont apprieciate it

yes friendship is hard once u dont understand what's the value, of this relation,,,,,
look dear we run for relations..... like friends boy friends , girl friends,,,,,they r true,,, but mostly they r selfish in some corner,,,, some one makes u friend for breaking his emotional stress, some for change, some for ur beauty, some for money and many more reasons...
once these reasons get converted to values, faith and understanding then the relation is beautifull.... but its very difficult these days,,,,,
i dont talk of anybody its true with us also...
so just move on,,, but be true to yourself ur values,,,,,,,
define ur relation and dont let them define u...
believe me u will be happy
