It certainly would appar that absolutely nothing is off limits today, whether it concerns the actual candidate , relative , or friend of theirs.

At present I'm at a loss as to where a line might be drawn , largely because it won't be respected regardless of where this line is placed.

Obviously things pertaining to a person's ability to make decisions , leadership , character , education, experience , & such are always fair game. But what someone else perceives as relative or their interpretation of the items I've just listed may be very different from yours or mine , & that is expected.

Sadly the end product of all this digging, muck raking, misrepresentation, defamation, etc, is we have & will continue to , greatly diminish the pool of potential candidiates for ANY elected office!! Why would someone subject themselves & their family to the present level of scrutiny for a chance to be villified by folks who don't bother to even vote in many cases, & enjoy participating in wholesale character assassination using information which is usually misleading , out of context , or outright false?

I couldn't care less if a politician cheated on their spouse, had a child out of wedlock, or even inhaled for that matter. The important thing is that they do their job to best of their ability.
