help to choose of a french song(chanson)?

Question

There is this contest of singing a french song (canson) and I need your help to choose a good one.
I'm an alto, but I can reach high tones as well, I need a song that you have to sing with a lot of fealings, love song woulg be good.
I'd apritiate the hI might go to france if i win....
help.....please!!!!!!

look for the chansons of Gabriel Faure. They are fairly easy in range ( in the medium edition), and are chock-a-block full of feelings. Your local music store should be able to order them for you, or check a university music library. They are quite standard fare.
Other composers of interest: Debussy, Duparc, Chabrier, Saint-Saens, Lalo, d'Indy, Satie, Poulenc ( his are the most difficult, musically, I think).
