If you are on an open ground then don't stand, but sit down (and if u fill comfortable u can even lie down on the ground).
otherwise stand near (don't touch it. be at least 5 to 6 feet away from it ) any metal tower like object (here also, lieing down will be better) which is taller than u, so that the lighting, if any, will fall on the tower and u will be saved.
otherwise get into any house.
(another important thing is that switch off ur mobile phone.)

Under the safety of your home's roof. Seriously, stand close to something which is a better conductor than yourself. Like metallic objects (but stay away from them) - they provide easiest path for the electricity to discharge. If you stand near some insulator, you provide the path adn hence it becomes very dangerous.

this is in no way a solid thought to stand on the factor of any tall merchandise outdoors for the period of a lightning hurricane. inspite of a nicely grounded merchandise, there is the means for the strike to arc from the article or perhaps alongside the floor into your physique. On precise of that, we are discussing ability traces. A strike to a ability pole has the further possibility of inflicting a transformer to blow up or breaking the line. the two circumstances would be quite unlucky in case you surpassed off to be status below the traces on the time.
