You yourself can stimulate your own creative powers.
Just close your eyes. Think of something you have already seen - something perhaps beautiful - or something scary. Now allow your mind to consider what might happen if you yourself were part of that scene. No pressure. Just allow the mind to wander where it wants to wander. Have a paper and pen handy. Jot down whatever comes to mind. Don't edit the thoughts. Jot them down. Just the ideas - not full sentences. Keep jotting as long as you have time. Allow your mind to thoroughly enjoy the experience. Allow it to have fun! For as long as you have time in this timeframe.
Then, the next time you want to continue this writing, pick up your notes. Read them over. Is a series of pictures welling up in your mind? Write them down too.
Then next 'session' - look over what you have written down in your 1st and 2nd session. See if a story begins to develop from your own creative processes. Then begin writing it down.
At first, just write individual experiences. Then when you have quite a few of them, see if you can join them together in a logical story line.
Expect to write and re-write. Anything important I have to re-write AT LEAST SEVEN TIMES. So don't expect to do this in one sitting. It will take many.
But WHAT FUN!!! A true creative, fantasy, mind-expanding study. Enjoy. It should be enjoyable.

It seems to me that as humanity evolves and becomes space-faring racing, the best suited critter to space - where it's really, really DARK - is vampires.
Imagine a future where vampires and humans have an uneasy alliance. Some of the oldest and most sane have proposed that vampires in space is a good place for them, better for humans, better for vampires. Bottled blood/plasma, what have you, will be available for consumption.
Take that ahead two or three generations, where there are "space vamps" created specifically for work in space who have never tasted real blood and are considered "safe" to work alongside humans.
Or - imagine a first contact between an alien race and ours, represented by an all vampire crew....What kind of misunderstandings might arise? Would a vamp discover that alien blood is the most delicious thing s/he's ever tasted??

Think about your life. Put it in a story form...Think of your past experiences, hopes, dreams, and what you would like your future to be.
Then start writing a story, because you are basing it on yourself you won't have to imagine that much. In other words, use your life as the story, not as an autobiography.

A true writer has dozens, no HUNDREDS, of stories within themselves and the stories pour out. A true writer doesn't ask others for story ideas. A true writer is compelled to write, their mind is filled with characters, stories and scenes.
If you are truly a writer, you wouldn't be asking anonymous strangers for ideas on what to write.

Writing a story is developing imaginary events from the actual happenings. Brain can not see or think what it has not seen. Hence, to write a story, apart from command in the language, what you require is hellusinating from the real occurrance.
Example - A lady falls while climbing in the bus as the bus left before she finished getting in. You may imagine further from this event. develop develop ........................ with breaking your brain ideas may not come.

How about a story about a guy who has the world's most beautiful flower in an air-tight box. If he ever takes the flower out of the box, the pollution in the air will kill it, but if he doesn't take it out of the box, nobody will ever see the most beautiful flower in the world.
And make sure he has a dog called Snappy.

At least give a basic genre to choose from
How about a story inspired by current events. Each character could have the perceived personality of a specific country. You know, the US could be the spoiled rich kid. His cousin Canada that all the girls like. North Korea could be the little short guy that kicks every one in the shins.
One day US accuses Iraq on the other side of town of wanting to buy a gun....

How about a story where the entire male population dies instantly worldwide and there is only one man left who somehow survived and has to deal with the aftermath. Think of all the socioeconomic implications and all the backlash that would occur.
