There are many ways to determine the current weather. First of all, observations are made at all large airports, many small airports and smaller stations across the country every hour of the day. These observations are of temperature, dew point temperature (moisture), pressure, wind speed and direction, cloud cover and precipitation. Meteorologists generally analyze the pressure drawing lines of equal pressure called isobars to find areas of high pressure and low pressure.

In addition to station observations, satellite and radar are tools used track weather and weather systems. For example, satellite observations can show the height of the clouds. Radar is useful for showing current precipitation but also has many other uses such as radial wind velocity (a tool used to predict the formation of a mesocyclone which can lead to tornado formation).

In addition to surface observations, we also look at the upper-levels of the atmosphere. Radiosondes (instruments attached to weather balloons) contain instruments capable of making direct measurements of air temperature, moisture and pressure with height, typically to altitudes of approximately 30 km. These observed data are transmitted immediately to the ground station by a radio transmitter located within the instrument package. The ascent of a radiosonde provides an indirect measure of the wind speed and direction at various levels throughout the troposphere.

Generally, a meteorologist will analyze these upper-level observations to find where the jet stream lies, analyze moisture and pressure, etc.

Putting all of this together is still the best tool to understand the weather and to predict future weather events!

very almost each and all the on-digital camera those that i be attentive to of on the components Channel are actual-stay meteorologists. It actually would not help to be enormously to be on television commonly... the days of the "climate lady" are enormously plenty long previous at this element in the time of quite some the country.

Using observations taken at regular intervals in many places giving the values of pressure, temperature ,humidity, direction and speed of winds at surface and different altitudes with the help of balloons ,radar observations, satellite data and using computer to analyse all the above data.
