This may not even be you. it could be (sorry to say) your husband. Now I don't at all want to freak you out, because everything could be perfectly normal with the both of you hormonal wise, but I've heard that stress can play a huge part in trying to conceive, smoking and alcohol/drug use, your sleeping schedule. My dr. even told me that certain foods you eat could help regulate you body a little more.
The biggest part of conceiving (from everything that I've read and talked to my Doctor about) is making sure that you are having sex 12-14 days after the FIRST day of your period starting. Keep a little calendar of important dates, tracking the day you start and then count 12-14 days after that to start trying to conceive. During those days, you're supposed to have sex every 36 hours to help maximize your results. Also note that sperm can live up to 5 days, so keep that in mind.
I hope this helps, and I understand why you wouldn't want to go to the doctor. I didn't want to either, not to mention that those hormonal tests and the test for your husband can be quite expensive. If this doesn't work over the next 4-6 months, then I would definitely consider contacting a doctor, just for more professional advice.
Good luck!!

There are many factors that affect pregnancy. Take a look at such factors as health, stress, menstrual cycle, your husband's health and his determining factor. Just because others in your family had quicker or better luck doesn't mean the same for you. Each body reacts different after using contraceptives. It might just take a lil longer for you or there could be a cause. An annual check-up with a gyno is recommended anyway, so it is better to get checked out than have complications later on when you would get pregnant.
I myself cannot have children due to a health issue, but was unaware until doctors found out the underlying reason why.

If you had been on the pill or injection before trying for a baby it can take a long time for them to get outof your system. It took me 8 months to concieve with my son after coming off the pill. Keep trying and don't worry but go and see your doctor if you want an expert opinion i'm sure he or she would tell you the same thing.
Maybe you just need to try abit harder! You can have a lot of fun trying!
Good luck!

Is your cycle is irregular, or are you overweight? Both of these are factors in getting pregnant. If not, then the docs say usually a year.
