Windows Vista is the latest operating system for the PC.

As to brand of computer, Dell has had a bad reputation ever since they switched their call center to India. Consider the level of support that you want, both in buying brand, and in which store you buy the computer from. Sometimes the store can offer support plans beyond what the manufacturer offers.

Buy a PC with latest configuration so that it does not get outdated soon. Capacity of hard disk and other peripheral you can choose as per your requirements.

may be u should go for assembling ur pc with equipments of diffenrent companies which will provide latest features at cheapest price , a set will cost you more than assembling

it depends on what you are using it for...if its just for internet..I would check out dell.com or hp.com they usually have good deals on pc. or talk to one of their cust. reps. and ask them for advice on what you are really looking for.

u havent mentioned ur budget as well as for wat purpose u wanna buy the pc... depends on whether u want it for gamin or ofice work..

i wud suggest u get an assembled pc accordin to ur needs.. it will b a cheaper option as well as ull get wat ever u want...
