Who should be the next Philippine president?

Question

In the Philippines, we've been having problems with our presidents lately. From the time of the toppled dictatorship of Marcos up to the current government of Mrs. Arroyo.

Now WHO do you think should run and win the next presidential election on 2010? and Why?

(I hope no movie stars would be in here again I really dislike politics being a popularity contest - come on we're talking about the PRESIDENT here. You know...the one who runs our country)

Yeah, I agree with the person above :) Mar Roxas would definitely make a good president. I don't think he's gonna be corrupt like the others since he was well-bred and comes from a decent family. Plus, he knows how to mingle with the citizens and he can understand us..
Or maybe.. Bayani Fernando or Sonny Belmonte?

I hope in the future, like.. 10 years from now, Chiz Escudero would be our president. I know many others dislike him, but I think he's really good in terms of speaking out and understanding what the youth has to say. And he has great plans and ideas too (I hope he'll put his plans into action) But first, he has to forget about those Designer/Branded clothes before i vote for him!!

I'm from the Philippines too. Although i'm not really into politics, I believe that our country is so corrupt, it's gonna take awhile before we have a decent president who is not after the position, power and money. Also, I hate the idea that we see more improvements (like roads) in the Philippines during elections. It's the only time when they actually do projects and put their names all over and say that people should vote for them because they do something.
