If theres no switch, how can I write-protect it so that it doesnt get infected by viruses?

I've checked their website and do not find anything to write protect it. the best you could to is make the whole drive read only from it's properties. Unfortunately you would have to change it back and forth every time you need to write to it. Also you can set you virus scanning software to scan that drive with your others.

If you dont have a switch on it to protect the information on the flash drive. then what i would do is look the usermanual and see if there is anything in there that may have the information for write protect. and then if it does not then i would contact transcend and see if there is anything they know about write protect on the usb flash drive. Now as for getting a virus we all take that risk when we put anything on a storage device that it may have a virus. what i would do is if you have an antivirus software on your computer then i would scan the usb drive for any virus's.

I would defiently check the usermanuel the most important thing to look for is the password protection for securty and zip files. that will at least give you the protection for that and that is found on page 22 in the software manual. but the virus scan will give the added protection, due to the fact it does not matter if you write protect it a virus can still get into it. so do what is on page 22 and the virus scan and you should be set to go.

nicely the place we asume that /dev/sdb is the actual disk gadget we are engaged on. If the gadget has partitions that are fixed as study-in basic terms, you could re-mount 'em as study-write with the intention to jot down documents to them.
