I feed my plecos with slowly sinking frozen blood worm so that it will not float around and make the whole tank very messy. Wafers generally makes the tank cloudy after a few days.

What I normally do is to switch off the filters so that while the bloodworms are sinking after being defrozen, they doesnt get sucked to the inlet too fast before they can be eaten. Without the filters on most of them will settle down on the tank bottom where the plecos can get the food.

JUST REMEMBER TO TURN ON THE FILTER/PUMP AFTER FEEDING!

Plecostomus are bottom feeders. Most pet shops will tell you that they will eat algae from your tank but mine eats anything that makes it to the bottom.
BTW he started at 2 inches and is now a foot after
8 years.

no they are bottom feeders. they're in love with algae. never hurts to pop some algae tablets in the tank for them. my plecostumus is over 5 inches long and lives in my itty bitty 2 gallon tank :( i feel bad and can't believe he hasn't starved to death yet. guess its cuz ive been feeding him these tablets. i really should find him a new home..

Yep, plecos are opportunistic. They'll eat algae, flakes, pellets, frozen food, veggies, and even a few of the fish in the tank with it.
