I've been admitted to law school in Illinois in the fall for full-time status. That means I'll have to go to school during the day. But, would it be possible to also carry my retail management position at 44 hours per week? I've, of course, looked at student loans and will borrow the maximum 24,200.00 that is allowed for the 2007-2008 academic year. But, I'm worried such won't be enough. Many individuals tell me full-time work and full-time law school will be almost impossible. Will law studies be THAT time consuming? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

if you major in law it is impossible to have time to work fulltime. Since you will have a lot research paper and case study to do. You will need to memorize a lot of stuff and you will not have time doing anything else. If you do work, you will not have time to study

Nope sorry. Not in the full-time day program. In the part-time night program, sure. That's the whole point of them, but it's essentially impossible to do 44 hours per week and do the full-time day schedule.

First of all, you likely don't have any say over your schedule your first year. Your day will be filled up with classes in a way that makes it pretty tough to squeeze a shift in btw classes. Say you pack the weekends, you'd still have to do a few hours each weekday.

There's no time for you to study. I suppose if you only need 4 hours of sleep a night, you might be able to squeeze by. However, one thing to consider is to check the rules. Some jurisdictions only allow you to work 20 hours a week while in law school in the day programs.

Some law schools (University of Windsor, for example) offer part-time law degrees. It takes twice as long, but that might be a suitable option if money is an issue and you really need to work full-time.

No. You'll have so much to do that you'll barely be able to finish reading your cases for the next day before you collapse and start again the next morning. Put this thought out of your mind. You WILL NOT be able to work full time during law school.

you may manage to end regulation college before deploying, yet i does no longer assume it. i'm military each and each of how, yet i visit inform you that it truly is way less complicated to end college first. i wanted to hitch the reserves even as i became in college, yet i'm so happy i did not, because it may have made it that a lot more durable to graduate on time. i could wait, then connect the military in a while as a JAG officer.
