It depends what format you are using to save your songs, how long are the songs and the size of your drive(s). But you can say that in MP3 128bit fix compression is about 1MB per minute, if you are storing in wave format at CD quality then it is about 10mb per minute. Other format use different space requirements. As far as how many songs? It depend on length of songs. If youare into classical it will be way less than if you are into children songs.

It really depends on how much space your computer has. You can check (this is if you're using Windows by the way) by going to 'My Computer', right-clicking on your C: drive, going to Properties and then see how much free space you have.
Let's assume you have 25GB of space left (if you're not sure what any of these terms mean so far, I suggest that you Google them ) and the average size of the songs you have is 5MB. 25GB is 25600MB so devide that by 5, and you can put in about 5120 songs. This is only an ideal equation so reality may differ.
