Im trying to find some info (all Australian) on the 70's such as the average prices of petrol, bread, milk, houses. The average wage, the average life expectancy. Anything interesting about the 70's. I have heaps of music and sport info but really want more general info.

try your capital city's library ... they may have old newspapers on microfilm..
advertise in local papers for old newspapers and magazines as some people hoard lots of old stuff..
here's a suggestion which MAY not be practical .. look under floorings as many people used to use news papers as a form of underlay .. or as liners for cupboards and drawers.
