It would be worst by not turning up at all, have you tried to put your alarm on and getting up earlier, it might just stop you from being late.

Late is far better than not at all - getting a bit of flak for being tardy is far better than missing out on bits of teaching which you may find invaluable later on. It's being paid for by someone, and by not going, you're wasting that.
You're studying 'cause you want to, right? So get out of bed and make the effort...
And if you're worried about walking in late in front of 100 people, then either learn to face the music, or get a louder alarm clock and set it to go off earlier! When you start working you won't be able to just not turn up because you're a few minutes late, so it'll be good practice to start being on time now...
This may have sounded a bit harsh, but I know exactly what you mean - I used to be just like that. Try also drinking more water (not coffee), eat properly, try getting a few nights' early bed each week and a louder alarm clock on the other side of the room (good tip that person!).
Least you only have to be there at 9am on some mornings!
;)
(The real world beckons - scary isn't it?)
You'll work out your own best way of doing it in due course, it might just take you a while - but you must go to them, you'll never get these opportunities back...

not turning up because you miss out on the important info you could've learned and you need to make the most out of your higher education experience because millions of people around the world will never get this opportunity. Everyone's late to a lecture at some stage, I was late to my first lecture ever, and sure that was a little embarrassing but it felt better when that other person walked in ten minutes after me.

I hate walking late, it's horrible in front of 20 people let alone 100. Then the tutor makes some wisecrack
'Glad you could join us'
'Are you late for today or early for tommorow.'
You should wake up earlier. Thats all I can suggest but I don't think I'd go to the lesson either.

I once waited for two friends and 20 minutes later they still didn't show, I felt so disappointed and sad. Just when I was about to leave one of them showed and I felt so much better.
I think being late is better than not being there at all...that's just my opinion.
But on the other hand if I'm late for a movie I will not go just because I hate to miss the first part!

i think it's ok but not take it as a habbit. Also you can go if you don't disturb the lecture's continuity. I think is good to come late because you still can use the lecture.
When I was student I used to be late and even now I am late often, but i don't recommend this.

You gain nothing by not going at all. Your tardiness may be a form of rebellion. Why don't you examine your feelings about the class and then decide if you want to participate 100 percent by getting to it on time and studying. Or perhaps you would rather drop the class for good or take it a later time.

Make more of an effort to get there on time. Try to do some things the night before if you can, so you will be better prepared in the mornings and have a little more time. Once you start on your career, it is going to be important to make it in on time so it would be wise to develop new habits now so you will be ready.

I know how you feel about turning up late. I did it in the army, and as a teacher and as a student. I felt like sh*t. But we have to face the realities of life. Drink used to be a major culprit, though sleep and dreaming were natural conspirators in my struggle to be on time. I had four alarm sources to wake up at one time. Though boring, an early night can work wonders too. At the end of it all, we are creatures of habit and it is for us to bring about the changes we need. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER - Remember the Prussians at Waterloo!!!!!

You need to get up earlier. If you are always late, ask yourself why? Stay up too late, bad night's rest? Take too long in the bathroom?
All these thigns can be addressed and need to be. When I was at uni our lecturers told us not to even bother coming in late, good excuse or not. Disrupts them and others. so you got there early.
Set your alarms on the other side of the room, I still do that to get out of bed to turn them off.
