A tanning bed is just as dangerous as the sun. Your best bet is to load on the sunscreen (SPF 30+) and spend small amounts of time in the sun to develop a base tan without burning. These days, you will still get some colour with a high SPF, but you won't burn and cause as much damage. Keep it gradual.
Your other option is to use a self-tanner. The new products that are moisturizers and gradual self-tanners in one (for example - Jergens Natural Glow) work really well and are much safer than a suntan - just don't use them as a sunscreen replacement.

Get the spray on tan.. the professional kind. It can be a little spendy, but you'll have a great looking tan. I have fair skin and tried to get a base tan out of a stand up tanning bed... I went 3 times a week for over a month and never got a tan. What a waste of money. Next summer, I'm getting a mystic tan. That's not harmful to your health either.

Tanning beds emit soooooo much more UV than the sun (people have gotten 1st degree burns) so you might as well just go to the beach for a day, it's funner and cheaper.
I'm never using a tanning salon, seriously have you seen final destination?

nicely in many situations they do no longer advise tanning in a tanning mattress after sorting out being pregnant, in simple terms because of the fact there is too plenty unknown approximately how volatile it may or could be even on a similar time as your nonetheless rather pregnant. yet once you pick to in basic terms tan your legs and not the rest, you need to evaluate finding a tanning place that has a leg tanner the place in basic terms your legs are in a splash mattress and the the remainder of you sits out of it thoroughly in regular temperatures.. because of the fact its the warmth and the rays that pass on your abdomen that ought to break the toddler. yet i do no longer see the place in simple terms tanning your legs could be a concern. i could maybe call around to 3 tanning places and notice in the event that they have a leg tanner and in simple terms placed a decision into your customary practitioner place of work and be certain that it may be ok.. stable success!

Do not listen to these uninformed people. UV light is a necessity in the natural production of vitamin D. More and more recent studies show that the lack of vitamin D is directly a factor in serious cancers. People who already have certain cancers, breast, prostate, to name a couple , have shown positive HEALING from UV light. I have studied this extensively, u should also. UV light is regulated, and monitored in a tanning bed, is the sun regulated? Most skin cancers are the cause of being burned at a young age from THE SUN. Contact me directly, anyone, and I will give you so many links to the positive results, compared to the "doctor's b.s.", it will make your head spin.

I am working on inventing a bleaching bed for those who are afraid of too much UV. Great for vampires, too. If it works properly eventually it can be used to remove wrinkles and skin cancer caused by tanning beds.
