i protected my XP PC with a password, now it fails to recognize my password, and my computer is useless. What can be done ??

You need to boot in safe mode, then go to the Administrator account, which does not have a password.. due to people forgetting there admin passswords etc.

Then you go to Control Panel, then you go the User Accounts then the user that you typed the password for, but XP is not reconsiing it, you change the password. Hope this helps

Simple boot ur computer in the normal way. when the user screen appears press ctrl + Alt + DEL two times u will be taken to the other screen.

In that screen in the user name tab input the name Administrator and click entre. wallla ur in and change the password.

you can use the admin log on (only if there is no password for admin). when you start your pc press "f8" button until you get a list of log on type. choose "safe mode" option then you will the admin user choose it. then create another user and delete the old

Start Windows in safe mode and log in as Administrator. If you have not set the password for Administrator, you can log in to your computer.

boot into safe mode and login with xp administrator account.....it's a seperate admin acct resident in xp and by default, doesn't have a password.

then just reset your user acct properties however you like.
