I only am doing a personal page as a bit of an experiment. The cheaper the better.

The free Dynamic DNS service allows you to alias a dynamic IP address to a static hostname - http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/

What that means is you can make your domain name point to the IP address asigned to your connection to the internet and serve your webpage from your own computer, even if you are given a dynamic IP address (one that changes) by your ISP.

The only down-side to that is you have to leave your computer on at all times.
There are free servers available with a lot more poweer than your home box.

The best and the easiest is MS Frontpage if you can get a copy.

There's cheap, and then there's free.
Free could be
http://geocities.com
which is yahoos.

Or you can buy a domain through yahoo for 2.99

http://domains.yahoo.com

and you can buy service from

http://godaddy.com

or any other cheap company that will give you service.
