I learnt that the lipstick color u apply to work is different from the one u apply to weddings and parties? the same goes for eyeshadows. Is there a specific technique to certain make-up application like eyeshadows?

there are so many different answers to this question. since makeup can make or break your face, as they say, i HIGHLY recommend you go to someone who can show you rather than tell you. I recommend you visit your local MAC store. they are very expensive therefore if you dont want to spend that much on makeup, just have one of the Make-Up Artists put make up on you while you ask all your questions. not only will you see which color looks best on you but you can also see how they apply it, which brush they use, etc. then you can go and choose your own makeup brand and choose colors similar to the ones they used. however, results that you get through using MAC products are at a MUCH higher quality than the results from drug stores. hope this helped you =)

Hi!
If you have the time, make an appointment or stop by a makeup counter at a mall.
Most places, whether MAC makeup or Estee Laudier, offer free consultation.
Some places will actually do your makeup for you, and you can watch or participate in each step of the process.
How can it be free? Well, at the end, they expect you to buy a product. You don't have to. Each time I have done this, I usually find a lipstick or lip liner that I really like.
My mom never taughted me how. So I learned from these free consultations and also by experimentation.
For extra fun, stop by Barnes and Noble and look through any makeup book by Kevyn Aucoin.

Makeup is makeup. Some people wear more to special ocassions such as parties and weddings, but I think it's best just to simply wear what is flattering on you at all times. And usually, less is more.

Start with a foundation powder or liquid that matches your skin color. Rub it on your wrist, and if the spot looks slightly brown or orange, it's too dark. If it looks pasty, it's too light. The purpose of foundation is to even your skin tone, not cover it up. (People who use it thickly or in the wrong color look like they have masks on.) Oh, and if you have lovely, young skin, a swipe on the nose, chin, and forehead with the powder is fine. Spread the foundation outward from the nose brushing up with your fingertips (never pull down with your fingers - the makeup will be more likely to settle in small wrinkles and make them look larger).

Concealer. Use a brush to lightly dot a concealer on your pimples or under your eyes, then blend carefully with your fingertips. Don't pull down!

Now put on your blush. Here is a hint: the blush color should match the inside of your lip when you pull it out. Choose a large brush and swirl out as you brush upwards under your cheekbone. Swipe the brush on the point of your chin afterwards (don't get new blush) to give your face balance.

Mascara. Use a brownish black unless you have very dark hair. Black is garish on lighter haired people. Apply one coat on the top only, wait, and apply another coat to the tips only.

Lipstick. Again, choose a color that matches your inner lip, or you'll look like a clown.

Eye liner and eye shadow. Choose neutral colors, such as browns and golds. Bright colors are okay for going to the disco, but don't wear them to work; you'll look too made up.

To keep it all in place, take a mister and give yourself a squirt of water. I know it sounds crazy, but your makeup will last a lot longer.

Go to your favorite Cosmetic Counter and ask one of those fine young Beauty Advisors to give you a free makeover and explain to you step by step the best way for you.

its always safe to use lipgloss than lipstick. but if u r comfortable w/lipstick, then put a little of vaseline, then lipstick.
as for da make-up, put foundation, lipstick, and either mascara or eye shadow..
da foundation should b da same tone as ur skin.

Don't do it. It makes you look ugly, and it ruins your skin. I am not being funny. Seriously. Most guys with a clue will hate your makeup.
