Niagara Falls is just a few miles out of Buffalo. I think the Maid of the Mist tours are shut down this time of year. That is a boat trip up to the base of the falls. Haven't been there in a few years. Then their is the colonial Ft. Niagara tourist spot.
So I couldn't' tell you about restaurants. President Benjamin Harrison was assassinated there.

I also live in Buffalo. Go to Pearl Street Grill (http://www.pearlstreetgrill.com/ in downtown Buffalo to eat. It's reasonably priced and has great food. Or, try the Chocolate Bar (http://www.buffaloathome.com/Detail.aspx?dct=54&id=1928&mid=236) on Chippewa Street in downtown Buffalo. They serve lunch and dinner and have great desserts.
