Once you learn to read tab, you can look up guitar chords and teach yourself to strum and change chords while you are strumming. There are many listings of scales that you can learn. Google rox

Guitar information on the internet is candy store that is getting better each year. Yes, for free go to utube or watch people play songs, or just get a backing track of the song you can fill in the basic parts, or free musical notation. Its easier now than ever to learn guitar.
