Nail polish is seen as something feminine and frowned upon when the men wear it. Sociologically, we've all been taught that to wear nail polish is a woman's right and not a man's issue. It's not because men don't like the colors. It just is. To answer your last question, that will depend on the outfit that you are wearing. The best color scheme will be to get a French manicure as the color is neutral and it goes with everything.

I wear nail varnish sometimes and I'm a straight guy. I give my self manicures, usually just buffing my nails and cleaning them then applying clear varnish. My favourite coloured polish is black, not becuse I'm gothic but I just like the look of it. It's very distinctive and women seem to notice it right away.

I say if you want wear nail polish, go for it. If someone thinks you are gay for doing it thank them for outing themself as being ignorant. There is a WHOLE LOT MORE to being gay than "dipping into" another gender's percieved domain. So now it's okay for women to be killed and maimed in combat but men wearing nail polish is Taboo? Diversity means DIVERSITY, this is so harmless. We are a free people and the freedom to be who you want is highly important. Well you can see my opinion. Go for it!

They have no fun with colors in formal or semiformal wear except for the tie...
IMHO, non-bold colors are nice, slightly darker than the skin tone, and natural. Stay away from dark burgundy, dark brown or black...

French manicure is best matches eveything & looks classy.
Some guys wear black nail polish.

I have seen guys that wear it Gothic types black of course, its a matter of choice really its only other peoples opinions that help other people make their choices but i say each to their own. Red is best its the only colour I have.

They don't have the rite colors for men.Depends on what season were in like summer are more of the neon bright colors.

the only semi-acceptable time for a guy to paint his nails is when he does them in black. then he's seen as trying to make a statement and be goth, not just be effeminate

cause its something thats decorative and needs upkeep. if a man has to be fixing himself up so much he's considered gay.
the best nailpolish color is red. :-D it just looks good on everyone.
