when ever i try to access the web page by its ip-address it is redirecting to the domain name in the address bar.. cant i open the web page only by its ip-address? I dont want domain name to be displayed in the address bar. can any one help me out plzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Sure you can if you know it! Just type it in the address box!

yes u can enter the ip address right into the address box if u want to know the exact ip address to enter for a website u can goto http://www.dnsstuff.com/
box on the far right half way down the page called 'DNS Lookup
Look up a DNS record (A, MX, NS, SOA, etc.)'
if u enter the www.etc site into this it will give the ip address thats hosting the site.

actually yes if you happen to know it.....works good for connecting to other computers on your lan but ultimately any URL is gonna get converted to an IP

For example....I ran a tracert for yahoo and got an end destination of 69.147.114.210 .....typing that into any browser will bring me to the yahoo homepage. The trick is knowing the correct IP you want to begin with
