I got a DUI close to my house. I'm turning 20 this year so I'm under 21. I know I really ****** up this time. I'm already going to AA and I'm commited to sobriety, including to marijuana (which was my main addiction fight), at this stage of my life. I know staying sober is not easy. I might consider drinking socially again when im 21, but never drunk driving, and never again a cycle of drinking alone til I sleep everynight to rid myself of my problems (which usually came twice as hard the next afternoon). I'm seeing if I can get some advice now for the DUI. Thanks. (Please no excessive criticism, I KNOW I fukt up) BTW, I still hate cops with a passion!! They are some sick fuks, the more time you spend with the more you understand how much they are not an average human (in a negative sick way). Cops need to exist in society, but not the kind we have nowadays.

1) You're on the right track with AA, but if you're doing AA just to keep you sober till you're 21, then you need to spend some more time with AA learning about alcoholism. Alcoholism can't be cured, only treated by not drinking.

2) You need to IMMEDIATELY contact an attorney who is experienced in DUI defense. There are a variety of things going on here, including the possibility of administrative license suspension, jail time, etc. However, since I'm not admitted to practice in California, I can't advise you on those. In *some* states, you can beat the administrative license suspension, and even have some sort of a diversion or suspended adjudication, but ONLY if you act promptly. Do NOT wait until the first court date to do anything, because many of these events are time sensitive, including any appeal of the administrative license suspension, (if California has that).

Contact a california attorney as soon as you can. For a referral, contact your local or state bar association.

you would possibly want to actual and indisputably examine with an criminal professional before you bypass to courtroom. no longer doing so isn't something below stupid. As on your Admin in preserving with Se suspension (the DMV workplace artwork the officer gave you that evening), you would possibly want to also examine with an criminal professional a minimum of initially. My effect of the Admin in preserving with Se application is that that is variety of a kangaroo courtroom, yet i might want to nevertheless advise chatting with an criminal professional first. however, allow me communicate about that i'm suggesting you would possibly want to examine with criminal guidance related to those concerns - no longer that you would possibly want to inevitably use guidance at a listening to. the final public of first-time DUI defendants plead to blame (and rightfully so) yet you opt for to have an criminal professional evaluate the data of the case before you walk into courtroom and throw your self on your sword.
