Johnny's age is 50% of Mary's age.
64 years form now, Johnny's will be 82 years old.
When Johnny is 82 years old, how old will Mary be ?

Solution:
Let Johnny's age be x and Mary's age be y - for present time.
x + 64 = 82 yr.
x = 82 - 64
x = 18yr.
-----------------------
Mary is twice as old as Johnny.
2(x) = y
2(18) = 36yr.
-----------------------
64 years later :

x + 64 = 18 + 64 = 82 yr. - Johnny's age.
y + 64 = 36 + 64 = 100yr. - Mary's age.
