i am trying to apply cal state northridge, Long Beach, and Fullerton my flute teacher said David Shostac is a world famous flute player he teach flute in northridge so she suggest i go there, but music in northridge is famous? my teacher also said long beach's flute teacher is not really good, i know some people said UCLA AND USC ARE VERY good AND usc is the nearest school from my house northridge is the farest, i think as a flute player i need to know which teacher can make me different. and i am a liberal studies major too, (this major is for elementary teacher) so i have to choose a school that is good in music and liberal studies. so which university is best ?

UCLA has a really good liberal arts department and their Music department is fabulous. The concert hall where they perform in is world class. You should really go there.

Univ of California, Santa Barbara has Bachelor of Music with Flute emphasis.

There are lot of univs that has a focus on flute in other states in US in case you are interested.
