In that case, the government is operating along the lines that corporations always act in the interest of consumers and that governments should help connect and relate corporations to consumers. The government would also assuming that its citizens make up both the corporations and consumer base so it would be obligated to doing just that and only that.

The problem here is governments are saying the corporation is always right, so by supporting corporations this way, it is no longer acting according to the people's will. Instead, it's goals lie in conjunction with the morals and rules established by corporations.
