Do please try to say something coherent, and back it up w verifyable facts, references. "Because I said so" is a laughable excuse for a debate position.

Freedom of the press means freedom from government intrusion into the press. Alas, the Constitution doesn't protect us from corporations or our fellow citizens. While your point about mass media is valid, any citizen is still free to start their own magazine or web site (I know, I know) without the need to get government permission to publish stories (not true in many other countries). And if that publication can find readers, then a new business is born. So yes, even though the mass media isn't terribly compelling, we still have a free press.

Oh, and to the person above who spouted off about liberal media: I don't think you know what a liberal is.

In the U.S.A., the "conglomerates" are still free to publish what they want. They are free to bias the news they report to fit the view they want to get across if that's what they want to do. I believe this has always been the case.
The content of the news they report is not (yet) regulated by government.
