I am wondering because the truth is such an abstract concept-

No. I disagree.

There is consensus - which is a "form" of truth. It's just what a group of people decide upon in a given situation. That doesn't make it "true" or "false." Neither does that make it "moral" or "immoral." It's just a group aggreeing on something.

Is mob mentality "truth?" Is it "moral?"

On the other hand, there are individual truths, that can be equally "true" or "false." Just because you believe in something, doesn't necessarily make it so.

And then, there are ultimate truths, and the best examples I can think of at the moment are mathematics and the laws of physics we presently understand. These are things that can be replicated and the result will always be the same, given that the conditions were the same.

I wish I could give you better and more examples, but while we might not be able to agree on a particular color or shade of blue, 1+1 will always = 2.

No!..take a book like Forbidden History, they detail archeological findings that were never accepted by mainstream scientists, yet there are thousands upon thousands that prove humans existed in this form for at least a million years. On the other hand we have never found the evolutionary link between Neanderthal and humans. And Darwin never managed to explain the evolution from nonflowering plants to flowering plants. It is impossible.
Disproving evolution alltogether....
The alternative is not the bible. It's something else completely. Perhaps it has something to do with the vastness around us called...what's that thing again?...yes, the universe.
It might be inhabited by other beings.....Anyway, how can you find credibility in 'socially-accepted consensus'.
Don't be a blind sheep....

The TRUTH is independent of ANY consensus.

It doesn't matter how much I believe in anything I declare or believe to be true. I can spend my life, my wealth and even die for this belief. My having done ALL of that will in no way "cause" this belief to manifest as Truth.

It's natural for most to veer off at this point to debate and explore the consequences for so many in this world with so many different and conflicting beliefs. This is where it is most important NOT to stray from the point. It's important to realize that the Truth is absolute. This is where we need to be honest with ourselves,.. If we REALLY desire the truth we have to be willing to genuinely seek it WITHOUT blindly or selfishly following a comfortable consensus or simple belief, expecting the Truth to "comply".

i disagree, the only truth is ones own truth. someone wise once said: " if you don't define yourself for yourself, other people will chew you into their fantasies and eat you alive." And i agree with that person,so the moral lesson here is, **** society and their socially-accepted consensus, and like i said in the beginning: " the only truth is ones own truth."

just because society labels it as truth doesn't make it so. What is truth to you may not be truth to all but if you refuse to quite believing then it stays real until you give up.

Disagree. At one time, the consensus was that the earth is the center of the universe; it isn't.

There are truths you have not seen. They exist whether you do or not. When you discontinue they continue whether you prefer it or not.
