The gunfight lasted roughly 30 seconds. Once started, bullets were flying fast and furious. Tom McLaury got got hit right off with a double shotgun blast from Doc Holiday. That weapon is deadly.

It is very easy to have dead and wounded from a gunfight at close range. Most of the shooting was done at a range of about 10 feet or less.

Don't know where you got that "wyatt earp gay for doc holiday" bit. No truth to that. It hardly would factor in and besides, Doc was a dying man. He had consumption (tuberculosis), a very contagious disease, and only lived 6 more years after the OK Corral.

Believe it. Gun fights are fast son. 30 seconds is a long time for one. Most, and there weren't many Hollywood style shoot outs, half that. It only takes one second to die when your heart or brain is blasted by a shotgun. Your dead before you hit the ground.

It wasn't the movies.

If there are just three people with guns, three people can get shot in one second. Real life isn't like the movies, where the bad guys can fire hundreds of shots without hitting the good guy, and then the good guy shoots the gun out of the bad guy's hand.
