Of course it can, if limited to an artificial definition, as general assumption often do, but the enmity and schism from opposing ideas is not ideal, and therefore, something true science and philosophy can not do, for it lacks both the real knowledge [science] and the love of it [philosophy].

"The philosophers of all lands and all times have sought to discover the truth about God, the objective world and man. Maya is the Will that causes all the three. It is a clear, flawless mirror. When Sathwa-guna (purity and goodness) is reflected in that mirror, God results. When Rajo-guna (passion and restlessness) is reflected, the Jeeva or the individualized Self results. It is ever anxious to grow, to grab, to survive and to be secure. When Thamo-guna (inertness and inactivity) is reflected, matter or the objective world is the result. All the three are basically Divine, but appear different because of the interplay of the Gunas (characteristics). "

Perhaps Science can not, but Philosophy and Psychology can explore further even without definitive conclusion.

science and phylosophy have two different roads they travel they can not explore cause they are parallel to each other
one can bisect the genes and look at their make up and the other bisect the belief and thought but they are both bisecting the same entity but looking on two different things

No we sure cannot. But we can unite as scientists and philosophers for the truth. Blind faith will only lead us into blind anger.
