if u attempt to download java with vista and it runs into a problem itll stop and tell u that java isnt necessary for your systems operating system or something like that.
go ahead and try to go to yahoo games first without installing java to see if it works. if yahoo page tells u that u need java then go to java.com and install the new version java 5 update 11. simple!

Nonsense, you don't need java to play games. You are not going to program games, are you? Java interpreter is integrated with your browser (Internet explorer). You should be able to play java games, as long as Java Virtual Machine is enabled in your browser. If not, go to tools=>internet options==>advanced and scroll down until you find JIT compiler or similar and enable it.

It should work. Also, some games run off of Adobe Flash. make sure you have the latest version from them as well.
