Is anyone suprised that Eddie has made his way to rehab? Im sure the ban forced him to go!

No. I think he's been battling substance dependence problems for many years. If I remember correctly it seems like he went in for help back in the 80's. I wish him well. It's a tough thing to overcome and I'm glad he's trying again.

Not surprised. I'm happy he finally chose to go. Why would the band force him to go? Eddie IS the band....realistically, they couldn't have a band called Van Halen without Eddie....
He's had it rough (cancer & divorce) and I'm not feeling sorry for him but I am truly glad he is going. Too bad for the rest of us who were hoping for a reunion at the R&R Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Monday night.....but Eddie's in a good place and that is what is important right now.
As for the dude who said he's surprised Eddie isn't dead - I will say that I'm glad he's not dead. He has so much more he can contribute to music.

Having seen EVH in some recent clips and pictures, no. I feel bad for Eddie, I'm a big fan, but it's good to know he's on the right track and that ego clashing with Dave wasn't to blame. I just hope he doesn't pull a Britney - he looks even worse in short hair than she does.
