The embryo of the pig obviously split during the initial cell division thingy but didn't fully complete the task. So instead of two piggies it became one with two heads. Most likely the heart is working over-time in order to sustain both heads. That doesn't sound like a good example of evolution because evolution happens as a result of survival of the fittest. This piggie might not even be able to reproduce even if it lives long enough to reach maturity.

From the looks of it, that is not a mutation (therefore, not proof of evolution). The genes we have are determined at conception. That is when a mutation would be present. What happened in this case is similar to what happens when identical twins are born: one becomes two. It's more similar to what happens when Siamese twins are born, actually. The zygote began to separate into two, but something went wrong. This happened after conception and has nothing to do with any change in genetic information.
Not saying I personally don't believe in any part of the theory of evolution, but...this defect is not genetic. Sorry.

1. " Freak of nature "
2. " very gruesome man-made mutation "
3. " a deviation of god's original design "
All quotes from the above posters, who supposedly follow the teachings of Christ / denounce the theory of evolution. What about deformities which occur naturally in nature, and have not been engineered by man ? Conjoined twins / birth defects, cross pollination of plants, changes, over time, in the genetic make-up /physical appearance and functioning of many species, are these god's own " abominations " ? Where did the sources of disease / faulty genes come from ?Obviously if there is a god he also created these. If god is so powerful, all knowing, kind and loving, is he not also powerful enough to prevent man from making his own creations ? Did he provide man with all the tools and ingredients needed to make cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, the tools used in abortion or to change genetic make- up, weapons of destruction ? Then in his wisdom give us the ability and knowledge, of how to build and use them. If Satan had no hand in the making of us, then god alone gave us the ability to perform evil, he also must have created Lucifer, and so created evil itself, assuming he created all things. I prefer to think that the world and mankind, came about through evolution, it is less disturbing and more acceptable, than believing in such an inept and weak god. To say there is a purpose and not to question, is a cop out.

The creation of the Holy One Blessed is He. Is it not idiotic that people cant believe that the A-lmighty created everything in less then a few billion years?
And as for the poor animal, it probably was a very gruesome man-made mutation.

I predict many 'that is just a mutation' answers from people completely missing the point and mechanisms of evolution.

I dont think thats evolution, i think it's a birth defect. Theres heaps of animals (and people) born deformed with less or more of what they should have.
