What happens if a killer thug leaves the neighborhood?

It improves.

it's really about several issues... do you want to right every wrong in the world and can we afford to go into every country and fix all their problems?

can they solve the problems on their own... and are civil wars good things to get involved in?

and do you want to stay there forever... and what will magically change between then and now?

it's one thing to care about Iraqi civilians... but where does our burden of responsibility end? we're already far past where Bush said we would be before the war... with no sign of any end...

maybe we should just send 50 million troops in there and hold a draft and make sure all those Iraqis are ok... and while doing so spend every penny America has on it and destroy our own economy? would that be better?

I've not seen anyone answer the majority of these questions with any real thought...

The reality is that the democrats do not care about the Iraqi people any nore than they cared about the Cambodians, Laotians, or South Vietnamese in 1975. All they care about is that the pullout is good issue to use to work up the American people so the democrats can get back their control of the government. If they felt going to war would be good for their grabbing of the reins of power, they would invade New Jersey, if that is what it took.

The democrats cut and ran in the 1970's when Vietnam proved difficult. They are re-running that protocol again. They figure it will win them elections. Just as Hillary, et al, supported the war when it was politically correct, now they are against the war because it is politically correct to do so, or so they figure. They seem to be devoid of a sense of morality as well as be unable to see further ahead than the end of their nose.

All they can contemplate is espousing whatever will win an election, they deal with the results by blaming the republicans for what happens as the result of the democrats' irresponsibility. It works for them. They have never taken responsibility for the 2 million dead Cambodians at the hands of the Khermer Rouge.

This not to absolve the Bush administration of responsibility for all its mistakes. I believe that he who does not read history is doomed to repeat it and the information coming out of the 4th estate seems to indicate that the republicans needed to do more reading before they invaded. Should have taken as page out of the playbook of the U.S. Army in 1944 as they had people in place to take over in Europe to re-do the power-grid, the legal system, the local police to enforce the law, to get the water system up and going, etc. Oops!!

However the republicans screwed up, that does not justify the democrats doing it also. They should be trying to do better rather than betraying our future for some immediate gratification.

Well considering how the Republicans don't care about the Iraqi civilians or the military, but are more worried about an image-crushing early withdrawal from Iraq...?

That's a fair question, as long as you ask the cons if they care about Iraqi civilians at all. I'm personally sorry that we started the mess that has got them killed, but if we leave , at least we can't screw up their lives any worse. It's their country, we should have left after it was "liberated".

#1.I don"t believe democrates ever cared.
#2.they do care about americans pulling out.if pulled out too soon we will probably end up like iraq.theirs no way we can leave that country deserted. we should have went after osama bin laden in the first place, now were going to gradually leave iraq and at the same time rebuilding.

I know you want a Fox News answer, but in reality, the democrats are more concerned with 1) the lives of our troops, 2) the U.S. Constitution, and 3) ensuring that the troops that we do have over there are properly supported - THROUGH PROPER FUNDING (not bumper stickers and tax cuts).

Why do "republicans" always have all the answers to America's problems, and never create any of their own?

So seriously----no one---absolutely not one person in Bush's administration had any idea that insurgents would come from other countries and lend weight to their interests in the future of Iraq??????

WTF!!!

I have never been in the military and I knew this before they went there!!!

What was their plan before deployment to handle insurgents???

Did they have one???/

It doesn't appear to be working!!!
